Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is this course for me?

Does it sound interesting to you? Then, YES, it is! Our courses have open enrollment for all interested persons. Some of our courses are specifically geared towards ordained clergy, and some are geared towards non-clergy who are either ordained or not ordained. It is always good to have a mix in the course and we welcome that diversity. Read the course description, and if you still have questions feel free to contact us.

2. Who can enroll?

Any interested party is welcome to attend any of our courses. We are a Christian organization and try to give a basic overview of our courses in our course descriptions. If you are interested in a course, we invite you to join us regardless of your religious affiliation, age, race, or gender.

3. How can I enroll?

There are several ways you can enroll in a course. REGISTER NOW, online! You can also download a course brochure, fill out the registration and mail it to us.

4. Who is CRTC?

Please visit our About Us page

5. My Church is not part of the Formula of Agreement out of which CRTC was founded, does that matter?

NO! CRTC courses are for all persons interested in attending. As a Christian ecumenical organization, we have had participants from over 18 different denominations this past year including American Baptist, United Methodist, Roman Catholic, Society of Friends (Quaker), and Unitarian Universalist. We have also had interfaith participants.

6. I would like to take a course, but cannot afford it, are scholarships available?

Yes, CRTC does offer a number of partial scholarships to our courses. We ask that you first start with asking your church and/or denomination if they have educational scholarship money available. If that is not an option, we encourage you to apply for a CRTC scholarship.

7. How does CRTC plan courses? Where do you get your ideas from?

We get our ideas FROM YOU! Keep us informed with your feedback including what your Christian enrichment and educational needs are, as well as feedback from our courses you have attended. What types of programs would you and others like to attend? What programs or training events would your church like CRTC to offer? Think not only in terms of your own interests, but also that of others. If we know there are several people interested in a particular topic, we will try to pursue possibilities for a course. We are here for you, so give us your feedback!

8. How can I get more involved with CRTC?

Attend CRTC courses! Become a sponsor to help keep this valuable organization going. Volunteers are also used in a variety of ways including office assistance as well as on our committees. Please contact us if you would like to become more involved by volunteering your time. Perhaps the most important way everyone can help CRTC is to help GET THE WORD OUT! Spread the word on upcoming courses. Invite others to courses. Pass along mailings and emails to those whom you feel might be interested. Pass along to us database updates for yourself and other interested persons. Also, ask your church to consider becoming a sponsor.

9. How is CRTC funded?

CRTC is a not-for-profit organization that is funded through grants, churches, and individuals. We are at a critical juncture as an organization as we are over halfway through the life of our most substantial grant. As we continue to receive outstanding feedback from course participants and feel our mission is important, we are looking to churches and individuals to increase donations. We are also seeking other grant funding.

10. What if I can’t attend every time a class meets?

Your attendance will primarily impact you and how much you gain from taking the course. If you know ahead of time you’ll be missing one or more classes, contact the CRTC staff.

11. What if I register and then discover I can’t attend the class after all?

Each program requires a deposit of $25 or the full registration fee (if it is $25 or less). The deposit is nonrefundable. A full refund minus the deposit is permitted up to two weeks prior to the program date. Contact the CRTC office for a refund schedule after that time. Click here for withdrawl policy.

12. Can I transfer credits from CRTC classes to my seminary?

Not at this time. You will need to have a conversation with your seminary regarding the CRTC work that you have completed.
